Malema says Mtolo’s control of Kokstad will end after elections

Date:

Julius Malema Takes Aim at Bheki Mtolo Ahead of Kokstad Elections

During the EFF’s KwaZulu‑Natal manifesto rally in Kokstad, Julius Malema didn’t hold back when talking about former ANC provincial secretary Bheki Mtolo. He called Mtolo a “small boy” and warned that his grip on the Greater Kokstad Municipality will disappear after the November 4 local government elections.

Why Malema Is Targeting Mtolo

Malema accused Mtolo and his allies of siphoning money from the Kokstad municipality. He promised that, if the EFF wins, those individuals will face arrest.

“Mtolo is a small boy who can’t do anything to the EFF. We are going to take Kokstad and arrest all his friends who have been stealing money from Kokstad municipality,” Malema declared.

EFF’s Plan for Kokstad

The EFF leader outlined what a party‑led municipality would look like:

  • Basic services first: clean drinking water for every household, delivered through a tap and safe to drink.
  • Reliable electricity: power that works even when the weather turns bad, and that remains affordable for residents.
  • Youth involvement: Malema said the young people of Kokstad will help remove what he calls the municipality’s “rot” before the vote.

Rally Venue Doesn’t Matter to the EFF

Malema also addressed the controversy over the EFF being barred from using a stadium for its rally. He brushed it off, saying the party can hold events anywhere—whether in a field, a hall, or even beside a river.

“We don’t care about a stadium. We hold a rally everywhere. Even inside a river, we can have a rally because we are unstoppable,” he said.

What This Means for Kokstad Voters

Malema’s remarks are part of the EFF’s broader push to win control of Kokstad in the upcoming elections. By highlighting alleged corruption and promising better services, the party hopes to sway residents—especially the youth—to vote for change on November 4.

Conclusion

Julius Malema’s fiery speech painted Bheki Mtolo as ineffective and corrupt, while positioning the EFF as the force that will bring clean water, dependable electricity, and accountability to Kokstad. Whether voters buy into that vision will be decided at the polls on November 4.
