- A Toyota Etios pulled up beside the stationary vehicle.
- Occupants of the Etios opened fire, striking Bothos and Madonsela.
The indictment notes:
- Thosei died instantly from a head wound.
- Madonsela suffered multiple gunshot wounds to various organs and died at the scene.

- Thulani Shozi – Supposedly tracked Madonsela’s movements and relayed that information to the team.
