NCC issues safety recall for Range Rover models due to manufacturing defects

Date:

Safety Recall Alert for Certain Range Rover Models

What’s the Issue?

Problem with Panoramic Roof Side Panels

The National Consumer Commission (NCC) found that some 2022‑2026 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles may have a manufacturing defect. During a factory rework, the adhesive used to attach the side panels of the panoramic roof might not have been applied correctly. Over time, this weak bond could cause the cladding to loosen or even peel off.

Why It Matters

If the side panel becomes loose, it can distract the driver or other road users. In the worst case, the panel could detach completely and strike pedestrians, cyclists, or motorcyclists, raising the risk of injury or a crash.

Which Vehicles Are Affected?

Model Years and Production Dates

The recall covers five vehicles built between December 2021 and December 2025. These are specific Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models that underwent the panoramic‑roof rework during that period.

What Should Owners Do?

Steps to Get It Fixed

  1. Check your VIN – Look up your vehicle identification number to see if it falls within the recall range.
  2. Contact a Jaguar Land Rover dealer – Call or visit the nearest authorized service center.
  3. Schedule an inspection – Technicians will examine the roof side panels and, if needed, re‑bond or replace them at no cost.
  4. Keep the service receipt – This proves the repair was completed and helps maintain your vehicle’s resale value.

Other Recent Recall Mentioned

Hino 300 Series Speedometer Issue

Earlier this week, the NCC also announced a recall for 146 Hino 300 series trucks sold in South Africa between March 14 and October 19, 2025. A faulty circuit board in the combination meter can cause the speedometer and odometer to stop working correctly, which could lead to speed‑related violations or accidents
