Police in KwaZulu‑Natal have arrested seven people linked to a series of crimes against foreign nationals. The offenses include shop burglaries, robberies, intimidation, and even attacks on officers.

Burglaries at Foreign‑Run Tuck Shops

Five Suspects Nabbed

Five individuals were taken into custody for breaking into tuck shops owned by foreigners. Various items were stolen during these break‑ins.

How They Were Caught

Three of the suspects were spotted by private security guards while they were stealing goods. The guards detained them and handed them over to the police, who then filed charges.

Arrests in Madiba Informal Settlement

Two more suspects were arrested at the Madiba informal settlement in Mountain Rise. They are also linked to the tuck‑shop burglaries.

House Robbery in Thubalethu Township

In a separate case, a man was arrested for a house robbery in Thubalethu township, near Melmoth. Police say he entered a foreign national’s home, threatened the occupants with a stick, and stole their belongings.

Assault on Officers in Burnwood Kwalimaza

Woman and Man Charged

After reports that a foreign national was attacked by a group in the Burnwood Kwalimaza informal settlement in Sydenham, police responded. A woman was arrested for assaulting officers and intimidation, while a man was taken in for intimidation related to the same incident.

All seven suspects are expected to appear in court soon. Police have warned that anyone committing crimes against foreigners will face serious consequences.
